A hand-knotted Persian Qashqai area rug. This wool carpet is hand-knotted in a palette of vibrant orange, red, burgundy,white, teal and black. It features a crenelated diamond shaped medallion on a red field patterned with trees of life, roosters, and barber pole columns to either side with horse head capitals. The four corner spandrels are grounded in a deep black-indigo with repeated rams head medallions and lobbed flower blossoms. It has a compound border of lobbed flowers, animal forms, and geometric shapes. It has natural warp fringe to either end. Unmarked.
