Item Details
A semi-antique Persian Kerman long rug. This wool rug is finely hand-knotted in a palette of rose, midnight blue, periwinkle, azure, celadon, cream, and cocoa. It begins with an oval medallion with deep pendants over a partly open, rose-colored field. The medallion and pendants are filled with crisply rendered flowers over periwinkle and cream. Framing the field and encroaching into it is a riot of flowers, vase forms, and broken borders, the borders grounded in cream, rose, celadon, and periwinkle, with midnight blue detail in bold contrast. Selvedges are overcast. The rug finishes at top and bottom with recently applied fringe. It is unlabeled.
