A hand-knotted Persian Shiraz area rug. This wool rug is hand-knotted in a palette of red, coral, orange,golden yellow, tan, black, and moss green. It features three diamond shaped pole medallions with crenelated borders. The red field is patterned with boteh motifs, lobbed flowers, and trefoil shapes. The main border has a samovar pattern and it is bracketed on either side with carnation meander guard borders. It has natural warp fringe to either end and overcast selvedges. Unmarked.
