East Asian Carved Jewelry Chest With Drawers

An East Asian carved hardwood jewelry chest, having carved character marks and brass hardware mounts. The hinged, molded top has a deeply carved surface and sides with brass medallion latch, which opens to a shallow interior and releases two carved doors with brass latch and surface hinges, to open, exposing three interior drawers. The chest rests on a carved framed base and also features bail handles to each side. Early to mid 20th century.
