An oil painting on canvas of an abstract landscape by listed American artist Edgar Hatten (1929-1990), dated 1962. The work depicts the scene with cool colors and a dark tone. Signed by the artist to the lower right corner and verso. Accompanied by an exhibition catalog from the Cincinnati Art Galleries on the artist.

Hatten was known for painting abstract still lives and landscapes, integrating mood, concept, visual elements, and drama. He was born in Wyoming and lived most of his life in Los Angeles. He was a teacher at Swinbourne College in Australia, and in California at East Los Angeles College and Citrus College.
