A collection of six mid 19th century lithographs after engravings by John Sturgess and Benjamin Herring of English racehorses from The London Daily News. It includes portraits of winners of important races including the Derby and Ascot in the 1850s and one from 1876. Five of the prints are signed in the plate, three by John Sturgess and two by Benjamin Herring. Two of the Sturgess prints a mounted in white mats, the others a loose.
Condition
- condition varies; slight to moderate discoloration to the prints and wear to the edges.
