A hand-knotted Mehriban wool area rug. This Persian rug is rendered in a palette of cranberry, indigo, ivory, sky blue, rose, and sage. The cranberry colored field begins with central medallion with radiating floral and lancette leaf motifs, as well as palmetts and floral sprays scrolling through out. Framing the field is a main herati patterned border with floral, and sawtooth guard borders. Finishing the rug are overcast selvedges and a natural warp fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.
