A hand-colored engraving titled Oenothera rosea from The Botanical Magazine, published by English botanist William Curtis (1746-1799) in 1796. This botanical illustration features the rose evening primrose with its purple bloom. Publisher’s information is printed to the lower center, and a copy of the title page and index from the magazine is included in a pocket to the verso. This print is presented behind a French mat and glass in a silver tone frame with fluted molding and wire to the verso for hanging.

- edge wear to frame; slight accretion.
