A late 20th-century watercolor painting on paper by listed American artist William Benecke (1934 – 2001) titled Shakespeare, Chicago. The piece depicts William Shakespeare’s statue in Grant Park, surrounded by green lawns, colorful flowers and lush trees, and set against a backdrop of the Chicago skyline to the distance. The work is signed in graphite to the lower right. It is matted in cream and presented under glass in a gold tone wooden frame. The frame backing includes a label with artist information.

- discoloration to paper and matting; edge wear, nicks and scratches to frame; no hanging hardware.
