Antique Wood and Metal Trunk

Item Details

An antique, circa 1870s, wood and metal trunk.This large trunk has an arched top with wooden cross pieces, and metal accent pieces on the tops, bases, corners and sides. There are vertical wood pieced on the sides, with ornate metal brackets holding them in place, and the front has an ornate metal clasp and two metal latches. There are handles on the ends, and the trunk rests on casters. The interior is painted red and white, and there is a wooden storage compartment under the lid. A metal fitting is marked with a patent date of October 1871, otherwise the trunk is not marked.

A moving charge will be incurred by winning bidders for any items not picked up. If winning bidder chooses to not have the item moved for alternate pick-up, the winning bidder will incur a disposal fee to have the item removed.

- antique, used condition with extensive surface marks, scratches and wear, including some areas of damage and rust to metal parts
- one leather handle is broken, interior is a little rough
- storage compartment under lid appears to be missing a panel; damaged
- tray for interior is missing; no key for the lock
