Item Details

A set of four turtle back Hitchcock style maple chairs. Each chair is comprised of a black painted and stenciled maple frame and a woven rush seat. They feature a carved crest rail and turtle shaped cross rail with stenciled floral, fruit, and lyre designs. Each has turned front legs with gilded accents and ball feet with a box stretcher. It is marked ‘Kling Turtle Back Hitchcock Chair’ to the back.

Condition

- to fair condition: scuffs and scratches due to use and age. some sway back and forth to chairs; some show broken fibers on rush seats.
