Item Details
An oil painting on wooden panel of a farm scene by an artist signing and dating the piece ‘R.G. Siebex 1937.’ This carefully-rendered work depicts a white house built near a dirt road, one of its inhabitants standing at the front gate and talking to a pair of figures with a horse-drawn cart. The composition looks out toward a range of atmospheric hills and is signed to its lower right corner. The painting is mounted in a wooden frame with a hanging wire to its verso along with a notation reading ‘Peter M. Saybolt, from Grandma.’

- nicks with paint loss throughout painting; accretions to painting; discoloration to frame; minor nicks and wear to frame; tears to backing paper at verso.
