Carstens Mid-Century Lava Glaze Double Vase

Item Details

A mid-century earthenware double vase by Carstens. This piece features sharply curved lips and a pair of elongated necks which join near the base to form a rounded body. It boasts a lava glaze of red, green, yellow, white, and brown and is finished with gilt trim to the lips. It is marked with a label to the shoulder and embossed logo to the base. Carstens produced art pottery in Tönnieshof in then Western Germany between 1954-1984.
