A color lithograph print on paper titled Ruff after a 19th-century wood engraving from Rev. Francis Orpen Morris and Benjamin Fawcett’s The History of British Birds. The piece depicts a brown and white ruff with long narrow beak and tufted plumage to the head. The work is unsigned but titled in plate to the lower center. It is double matted in white and rose and presented under glass in a black and gold tone wooden frame with hanging wire mounted to the verso.
Condition
- discoloration to print with mat burn, staining and foxing present; minor edge wear and scratching to frame; moisture stains to backing paper along top.
