A hand-knotted Indian Royal Jahan Tabriz-style pictorial wool area rug. The rug has been worked in a palette which includes shades of buff, ivory, salmon, coral, curry, fawn, celery, and aquamarine. The rug features a round pendant medallion on an ivory field infilled with trees, flowers, and birds. The spandrels have curved borders and are populated with more floral designs. The compound borders include carnation and meander motifs while the primary border has a salmon background infilled with flowers, palmettes, and deer. The rug has overcast edges, fringe at each end, and a tag is attached to the reverse.
