Hand-Knotted Heriz Wool Area Rug

Item Details

A hand-knotted Heriz wool area rug. This rug has a Sarouk influence and is rendered in a palette of rose, magenta, sand, sky blue, and sepia. Beginning the field is a large star medallion along with and abundance of floral motifs, and vase forms. The over populated field is framed in a stylized herati patterned notched border, along with leaf and blossom guard borders. Finishing the rug are overcast selvedges and a natural warp fringe to on end while the other is bound. The underside offers sewn on vinyl bands to each edge, and goes unlabeled.
