An antique American empire mahogany sideboard. This sideboard is in the final incarnation of the Empire style in America: the Pillar and Scroll style, which allowed for a combination of handwork and mass production of veneered pieces in the mid 19th century. This sideboard with its ogee drawer, scrolled back splash, scrolled pilasters and ‘C’ scroll feet typifies the style, while still maintaining some handwork in the hand dove tailed drawer and hand chamfered panels of the two door panels. Key not included. Unmarked.
- some veneer losses, various scuffs, rubs, chips and bumps.
