Herschede Grandfather Clock

A Herschede grandfather clock. The clock is hardwood with a cherry finish and features a broken pediment and urn style finial with an empire style front that has turned side post. The clock has two hinged access doors with click in locks and glass fronts. The doors display a brass plate with a silver-tone face with black Arabic numbers and serpentine hands with raised brass spandrels and a ‘Tempus Fugit’ emblem to the top. Other features include a brass pendulum with weights and chains, a one-week mechanism and chimes and the clock stands on a block style carved wood base with ogee bracket feet. The clock is marked ‘Herschede’ to the face.
