Chinese Early 20th Century Qing Dynasty Period Silk Robe
Item Details
A Chinese early 20th century Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) period silk robe. This robe is patterned after a Qing Dynasty guanfu, combining elements of a robe worn by a civil official and a robe worn by the Imperial family: an embroidered version of the patch worn by a ninth rank civil official, and embroidered versions of the round dragon medallions decorating the Imperial family’s robes, embroidered to the bottom with waves, mountains, birds and animals, and closes with a brass tone button to the neck and fabric tie to the waist. The interior is lined in a pale blue silk brocade that has been aged.
Condition
- lining has been aged and torn in places, some holes to the embroidery, some loose threads.
