The Night & Moon
Oil painting on canvas
Signed to lower right
35.5″ W × 29.5″ H

An oil painting on canvas titled The Night & Moon by contemporary Cincinnati artist Ted Borman (20th/21st Century). Depicted is an abstracted landscape of rich green trees and red-roofed houses drawn down in a sweeping motion. The night sky looms overhead with circular bursts of white stars. Artist’s signature is present to the lower right corner. Presented in a black wooden frame with gold-toned detail and a wire hanger to the verso.

Ted Borman received a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Cincinnati. His paintings have been exhibited in galleries throughout the tri-state area and in Florida, including the Schaff Gallery, the Miller Gallery, and the Studio E Gallery. The following is a quote by the artist from his website explaining his inspiration, approach, and style:

’I am a clinical therapist with a long interest in art. As a therapist, I listen, process, analyze, and interpret. As an artist, I look, process, analyze, and interpret. I choose to interpret expressively. Creativity is life affirming.

I liken my approach to musical composition, in which even disjointed elements are balanced and rejoined. More than content, it is beauty, color, texture, composition, and sensual impact that motivate my work. My paintings reach to the edge, with a sense of ‘all over painting’ and point-counterpoint balance. Yet, their many paths loop and become intimate, with color driven and fugacious forms.’
