A hand-knotted Persian Qashqai area rug. This wool carpet is hand-knotted in a palette of warm red, indigo, black, ivory, and burnt orange. It has three diamond shaped pole medallions with hooked crenelated edges and barber pole borders. The field features a red and black square grid pattern with ashik motifs and geometric patterns. The main border features a meander with box and leaf shapes,with a saw-tooth guard border to the interior edge. It has overcast selvedges with short fringe to either end.
