A hand-knotted Persian Qum wool area rug. This rug features a palette of cranberry, indigo, sky blue, ivory, camel, olive, and sepia; beginning with a large central pendant medallion on a scrolling floral patterned cranberry field, accompanied by ornate spandrels with palmettes and coordinating floral motifs. The field is ornately framed with a scrolling floral and palmette patterned main border with a chained, as well as leaf and blossom guard borders. The rug is finished with overcast selvedges and a natural warp fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.
