East Asian Silk Scroll with Watercolor Landscape Painting
Item Details
An East Asian watercolor painting on silk mounted to a hanging scroll. The piece depicts a mountainous landscape scene with a lake shown to the foreground, rendered in a palette of black and brown against a tan background. The work includes red artist’s seals and black calligraphy to the upper left. It is mounted to a pale green silk brocade scroll backing with a dowel to the bottom and hanging string to the top.
Condition
- tears to scroll at upper left edge; hole to brocade near upper right; discoloration and foxing to silk; edge wear; creasing from rolled storage.
