An engraving on paper by J. Godfrey after the painting Milking Time by Dutch artist Paulus Potter (1625-1654). This bucolic image depicts a young girl getting bitten by a dog while carrying a puppy toward her mother, who is milking a cow. Sheep , horses, and other barnyard animals surround the two figures. The work is attributed in-plate to both the original artist Potter as well as the engraver J. Godfrey in the lower margin. It is presented under glass in a silver tone wood frame with a burgundy velvet liner. There is a hanging wire mounted to the verso.
