Edie Harper Signed Limited Edition Serigraph "Baskit"

Item Details

By Hand

A 1982 limited edition serigraph titled Baskit by well-listed Cincinnati artist Edie Harper (1922 – 2010). The print depicts a stylized orange cat peeking over the edge of a picnic basket, set on a red checkered background. It is signed, titled and numbered 94 out of an edition of 375 in graphite to the lower margin. The print is presented without framing or matting, awaiting choice of presentation.

Edie Harper described herself as a “Jill of all trades trying to master one” since she had been successful in many areas of art including photography, wood sculpture, weaving, and jewelry design, as well as painting and printmaking. Her husband, well-known artist and illustrator Charley Harper, called her “the thinking man’s Bible illustrator.” Edie’s work has been exhibited at the Cincinnati Art Museum, Andover Art Museum, and the Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati, as well as many others.
