"Marine Master Box" Navigational Kit

Item Details

A vintage “Marine Master Box”, with a number of navigational instruments for sailors, by T. Cooke & Sons of London. Includes a compass, miniature telescope, navigational scale with chart, two spirit levels, an alidade, and a boat clinometer. The compass and clinometer can be locked into place when not in use. The instruments are in brass, and there is a brass plate to the lid of the wood box.

Condition

- The instruments could not be systematically or scientifically tested by EBTH; however the compass does not appear to work.
- The side handle is missing the knob and there is discoloration to the brass plate.
