Hand-Knotted and Carved Chinese Wool Area Rug

A hand-knotted and carved Chinese wool area rug. The rug features a central floral wreath medallion accented to either corner by floral motifs in a palette of salmon pink, peach, and sage over a cream-colored field. It has a continuous foliate border with a primary ground color of pale pink bordered by sage. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with cotton warp fringe. It is unmarked to the reverse.
