A former resident of North Carolina, Dorothy Schiller (1918 – 2013) studied under leading artists and teachers and was awarded the grand purchase prize by Associated Artists of Winston-Salem in 1961. Her work was also accepted at the Gallery of Contemporary Art and a Sears Roebuck competition in that area. Since moving to Indianapolis in 1970, she earned several awards. Her paintings have been accepted in a number of juried shows, including the Hoosier Salon; Art 500 and the Indianapolis Art League. Mrs. Schiller was a member of the Hoosier Salon and Indiana Artists-Craftsmen, Inc.
