Chinese Wooden Canister with Lid
Item Details
A Chinese wood canister. This canister is painted black and has applied gesso details to the lid and sides of the bowl that are painted mostly in gilt. The canister is stamped with an inscription in black ink to the underside of the lid and the bowl.
Condition
- large split in lid, partially sealed with glue; large split in side of bowl; chipping of gesso throughout the exterior of the lid and bowl..
