Hand-Knotted Turkish Wool Area Rug

A hand-knotted Turkish wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of ivory, indigo, sand, lavender, sepia, and gold. The densely patterned scrolling floral and foliate field features a central starburst medallion along with large palmettes and large ornate spandrels. Framing the field is an ornate herati main border with floral meander and barber pole guard borders. Finishing the rug are over cast selvedges with a cotton warp fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.
