Item Details

An antique Chippendale style mahogany table with a leather top by Maple & Co. Ltd., circa late 19th to early 20th century. The frame features a round top with molded edges inset with six, pie-shaped panels in green leather with black mottling. Each panel has tooled and gilt borders and the top rests on a conforming apron with a beaded lower edge. The table rises on four cabriole legs with foliate-carved knees, scrolled returns, and ball-and-claw feet on brass casters. The underside is marked ‘Maple & Co. Ltd. / 3911’.

Condition

- to fair; scattered scratches, nicks, and marks; one leather panel with a small tear; strip of molding just below top with a slight separation at one end; slight gap between underside of top and secondary support rail at one one end, probably due to warping.
