A Chippendale style tray-top coffee table from Wakefield-Scearce Galleries. The frame features a square top above a conforming apron, both of which are covered in pale orange leather. The top is inset with a removable, brass tray surrounded by two gilt, floral-tooled bands. Decorating the apron is a row of brass tacks applied in a drapery formation and the table rises on cabriole legs in carved mahogany with acanthine knees and ball-and-claw feet. The brass tray retains a retailer’s sticker marked ‘Wakefield-Scearce Galleries / 2001 MAH / 25108’.

Condition

- small moisture/drip stains throughout leather top with a few tiny scuffs to corners; some fading to leather and scratches, some of which are possibly intentional; legs with some small scratches and nicks; brass tray with tarnishing, small rust spots, dings, and ring stains.
