Rare Circa 1890 Three Wheel Velocipide Tricycle

Item Details

A rare circa 1890 velocipide three wheel tricycle with the larger wheels at the back, coated canvas and straw stuffed upholstered seat, foot pedals and a steering rod. The antique tricycle would have been designed for women due to the fact that they were unable to mount the bikes with large front wheels while wearing a skirt. The metal frame retains some paint and decorative detailing at the fenders. Most importantly, the tricycle still works.
