A watercolor painting on paper architectural scene by Cincinnati painter Robert Herrmann (American, 1922-1996), executed in 1990. Depicted is te top side of a white building with scattered windows. Initialed and dated to the lower right, ‘RH ’90.’ Presented under glass with an off-white matting and housed in a wood panel frame.

Herrmann acquired his formal artistic and architectural training at the University of Cincinnati, University of Wisconsin, Ohio State University, University of Iowa, and Columbia University. While professionally trained, he chose to never exhibit his work publicly, making his first solo exhibit posthumous. He is known for his precisionist style and his paintings of architectural landscapes.

Included in the lot is an exhibition catalog from Cincinnati Art Galleries, LLC., 2008.
