A circa 1955 limited edition drypoint on paper by well-listed French artist Bernard Buffet (1928 – 1999) titled Le Canal. The Expressionist piece depicts a canal running through a quiet French cityscape under evening skies, rendered in a palette of black against a cream ground. The work is signed in graphite to the lower right and numbered to the lower left as 86 out of an edition of 125. It was printed by Lacourière and Frelaut, Paris, and published by Creuzevault, Paris. It is matted in off-white and presented under glass in a gold tone wooden frame fitted with hanging wire to the verso.

- to Fair; discoloration to print and matting; debris present under glass; edge wear, scuffing and scratches to frame; tears to frame’s backing paper.
