An engraving on paper titled Cherry Earrings by Herbert Bourne (1820 – 1907) after a painting by Fred Morgan (1847 – 1927). This monochrome work depicts children at a table with a bowl of cherries before them and the girl playing with some cherries as if they are earrings. The piece is unsigned, but includes a printed inscription to the lower margin with the names of the engraver and artist. It is presented behind a white mat, behind glass, in a gold tone wooden frame with a sawtooth hanging bracket to the verso.
Condition
- light wear to frame finish; glass could be cleaned more thoroughly.
