A Daisy Olivia Dickinson oil painting on board titled A Courtyard in Toledo, Spain. Dickinson (1901-1988) was a Californian artist and teacher known for her sculpture, paintings, and was also lecturer and craftsperson. This particular painting depicts a street scene showing children playing on the sidewalk with other nearby figures, with homes in the near background. The painting is done in a bold impressionistic manner, and shows a signature to the lower center. The board is housed in an ornate gold toned frame, and offers a wire to the verso. The verso also shows a tag that reads ‘Artist D’ Olivia Dickinson, Title ‘A Courtyard in Toledo, Spain’, Medium Oil on Swedish Board, Art Center in La Jolla’.
