A hand-knotted Kashan wool area rug. This finely hand-knotted rug features a medallion in a palette of crimson, indigo, sky blue, ivory, olive, rose, and gold. Beginning the field is a large diamond pendant medallion with an all-over scrolling herati pattern, along with layered spandrels. Framing the crimson field is an ornate herati patterned main border, a pair of floral guard borders along with carnation meander borders. Finishing the rug are overcast selvedges and a short natural warp fringe to the ends. Labeled ‘Made in Iran, Hand Woven Carpet & Rugs’.
