Antique Civil War Era Horse Rosette Button

An antique Civil War era horse rosette button. These metal button-shaped fasteners were used to keep the crown piece and browband together on a horse’s bridle. This piece would have originally been one of a pair and features the letters ‘US’ within braided edging and an intact shank to the back.
