Item Details

A pair of sterling silver plates. This includes a large plate by Watson Co. of Attleboro, MA (active 1880-1955), which features a flat-bottomed well, scalloped sides, a foliate engraved lip, and an anthemion pattern rim. The plate is stamped to the underside with the maker’s mark above ‘Sterling A416 8’ and has a retailer’s mark for J.E. Caldwell & Co. of Philadelphia, PA (active 1839-2009). It is presented with a small plate by Towle Silversmiths that has a pierced lip and a personalized engraving to the center of the well, stamped to the underside with the maker’s mark, ‘Sterling’, and ‘9652’. The total approximate weight is 5.625 ozt.
