A British Navy bosun’s call metal whistle. Whistles of this type were used aboard British ships for the boatswain (or bosun) to issue commands that could be heard above the crash of the sea. Featuring a curved gun and a flat, wave-shaped keel, this bosun’s call terminated in a round buoy stamped with the Military Broad Arrow mark of the British Empire.
