Early to Mid 20th Century Photogravure on Paper After Guido Reni's "L'Aurora"
Item Details
An early to mid 20th-century photogravure on paper after the L’Aurora ceiling fresco by well-listed Baroque artist Guido Reni (1575 – 1642). The piece depicts a group of Classical figures walking and flying in a procession alongside a horse-drawn chariot, rendered in a palette of brown against tan. The unsigned print is presented under glass in a wooden frame with hanging wire mounted to the verso. The frame backing includes a mid-century framer’s sticker from Howe’s Art Store of Elmira, New York.
Condition
- discoloration and foxing to paper with age; edge wear, scratching, nicks and accretion to frame; tape residue to verso; no backing paper present.
