Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Nahavand wool accent rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of madder red, black-brown, cobalt, slate, ivory, salmon, and sepia. The lozenged field begins with a pair of octagonal medallions, along with diamond medallions and geometric motifs. Framing the field is a main crab border, along with a Hamadan patterned guard border, and a chained boteh and arrow patterned guard border. Finishing the rug are overcast selvedges and a natural warp fringe to the ends. Labeled ‘Design Nahavand, Origin Iran’.
