A hand-knotted Russian Kazak Style wool carpet runner. This rug is rendered in a palette of black, cimson, sage, sky blue, rose, clementine, and burnt ochre. The field is overpopulated with latticed stepped diamond and hexagonal medallions infilled with floral, geometric, and animal motifs. Framing the field is a unique floral and bird patterned main border with carnation meander guard borders. Finishing the rug are bound edges and ends, with a cotton binding to the ends. Labeled ‘Khazai, Type Russian, Origin Russia, Design Kazak’.
