A hand-knotted Indo-Caucasian Karabagh wool area rug. This room size rug is attributed to Indian weavers, and rendered in a palette of wine, indigo, sky blue, ivory, rose, emerald, and mocha. The wine colored field features a latticed floral and palmette pattern along with geometric and florette patterns through out. Framing the field is a main stylized serabend pattern with large rosette and floral motifs, guarded in a unique geometric border. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a natural warp fringe to the ends. Labeled ‘Karabagh, India, Hand Knotted, Wool’.
