A hand-knotted Indo-Tibetan medallion carved wool area rug. This rug is attributed to Indian weavers, and rendered in a tonal ivory palette with sculpted designs of round latticed medallions, along with floral motifs though out. Framing the field is a main border of repeated shield like medallions with alternating flower sprays. Finishing the rug are overcast selvedges and bound ends, labeled ‘Design Indo Tibetan, Origin India, Type Hand Knotted, Content Wool’.
