Hand-Knotted Indian "Aubusson" Wool Area Rug

A hand-knotted Indian Aubusson area rug made of New Zealand wool. The large rug has been worked in shades of camel, ocher, wine, claret, olive, sage, rose, and sand. It features a large floral medallion with broken scrolled floral borders set within a tone-on-tone wine and claret field populated with oversize arabesques. The wide borders include cartouche-enclosed floral motifs at the corners with floral designs along the edges. The rug has overcast edges and short fringe at each end. Tagged to reverse.
