A Chinese needlepoint Aubusson Style wool area rug. This room size rug is rendered in a palette of ivory, gold, cranberry, sage, rose, violet, sky blue, and cornsilk. The ivory field features all-over floral motifs, along with ornate flower filled vases, horn shaped vessels with flowers, butterfly motifs, and scrolling foliate vines. Framing the field is a solid cranberry colored border with a leaf and medallion repeated border. Finishing this beautiful rug are bound edges and folded ends, with loose threads to the underside that are characteristic of the needlepoint process. Unlabeled.
