A hand-knotted Moroccan Azilal area rug. This playfully artistic Berber tribal rug is attributed to weavers in the Atlas mountains. The textured rug begins with a grid of small rectangles and squares in shifting waves of bright pinks, rose, dusty pink, green, black, and cherry. Each panel is outlined with long-pile yarns and in-filled with horizontal bands of shorter pile over a multicolored under weave. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at one end with a striped kilim skirt and multicolored warp fringe, while the other end is hand-finished. It is unlabeled.
