Antique Magic Lantern Glass Slides
Item Details
An assortment of antique magic lantern glass slides contained in their original hinged box. There are a total of ten glass slides depicting ‘Shriners,’ ‘Sanchi Shrine,’, ‘Jerusalem,’ ‘Grotto Of St. James And Pyramid Of Zacharias,’ ‘Sumerian Worshippers’ and others that are unidentifiable. The Shriners slides were done in color. Each glass slide is framed with black cardboard. These slides date from the early 1900s and were used in a projection apparatus. The original box has metal latching locks with detached lid and metal carrying handle. The original manufacturers’ paper label that reads ’Barnett Jaffe Phila 6 U.S.A. is affixed to one of the sides of this antique box containing the antique slides.
Condition
Good Condition overall. One slide is cracked and repaired with tape. The photos have darkened over the years. The original cardboard box exhibits edge and surface wear. The backside of the lid is missing a portion of its cardboard.

A slide measures 4" wide 3.25" tall.
